Cleanup: Clean Storage (by Codeway) has become one of the most visible photo cleaner apps in the App Store through aggressive social media marketing. However, many users are shocked to find a hefty subscription fee—often $7.99 per week or $39.99 per year—after a brief trial.
If you are looking for an honest, privacy-first alternative that doesn't trap you into recurring payments, Swipe Photo Cleaner offers a superior, intuitive experience.

Why Swipe Photo Cleaner is the Better Choice
1. No Predatory Weekly Subscriptions
Cleanup App charges up to $7.99 every single week—adding up to over $400 a year just to clean photos you already took. Swipe Photo Cleaner believes basic storage maintenance shouldn't be an expensive recurring bill. It provides a robust free tier and optional affordable lifetime access without recurring subscription traps.
2. The Addictive Swipe Mechanic
Cleanup relies heavily on scanning and presenting grids of similar photos for you to manually tap. Swipe Photo Cleaner uses full-screen kinetic swiping: swipe right to keep, swipe left to delete. You process photos in full resolution at lightning speed using muscle memory.
3. Month-by-Month Structured Review
Instead of overwhelming you with 20,000 photos at once, Swipe Photo Cleaner breaks your camera roll into manageable monthly chapters. You can easily clean up "August 2025" or "December 2024" in 2 minutes without feeling overwhelmed.
